Treasure Paws and the Jackie Speier Foundation have come together in 2025 to launch “Jackie’s Closet”, a collaborative fundraising initiative hosted at the Treasure Paws thrift store in Burlingame. From September 1 through October 31, 2025, the store will feature a dedicated collection of donated items specially tagged as part of Jackie’s Closet. Each item will be priced, displayed, and marketed in coordination with the Foundation, creating a signature experience for shoppers while raising vital funds for local causes.
Under this agreement, 50% of the purchase price from Jackie’s Closet sales go directly to the Jackie Speier Foundation, while the remaining 50% stays with Treasure Paws to support its ongoing mission of animal welfare and community service. The collaboration also includes shared marketing campaigns across social media, email newsletters, and local press, ensuring broad visibility throughout San Mateo County.
As always, 10% Of our gross revenue from each sale still goes to benefit Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA.
Benefits to San Mateo
The partnership provides dual impact for the community. First, it strengthens resources for women and children in San Mateo County, as the Jackie Speier Foundation focuses its efforts on programs that empower vulnerable families and address pressing social needs. Second, it supports animal welfare and sustainable consumer practices through Treasure Paws, which reinvests its share into life-saving programs like the Peninsula Humane Society’s Hope Program.
The initiative also stimulates local engagement: donors contribute goods through a streamlined process, volunteers from both organizations collaborate in-store, and shoppers enjoy access to unique, meaningful merchandise. Beyond fundraising, Jackie’s Closet helps raise awareness of conscious consumerism—turning everyday purchases into acts of generosity that ripple across San Mateo County.
A Community Partnership Model
Together, Treasure Paws and the Jackie Speier Foundation are modeling how nonprofits can combine missions to create broader impact. This partnership not only directs vital funding to families in need but also reinforces Burlingame and greater San Mateo County as a hub of compassion, sustainability, and civic pride. The collaboration shows how repurposed goods, volunteer energy, and community generosity can create lasting change for both people and animals.
